The coaching staff is excited for the pending spring soccer season which is set to officially begin on April 12th.
There may be some out of season dates offered prior to the start of the season at the end of March and beginning of April to help us navigate the new requirements. Please check this webpage often for updates.
To be eligible for soccer tryouts you must have a current physical and have met the concussion training requirements. Please be sure this paperwork is dropped off in the main office at Patriot High School prior to the start date to ensure you are eligible.
We will update as more information becomes readily available. We hope you are all well.

Dear Patriot Pioneers Boys Soccer family,
We are moving into a dead period due to winter sports tryouts, this combined with winter break will lead us to delay additionally attempts at out-of-season conditioning until after the New Year.
Moving into December please prepare for a successful start to the new year by submitting all necessary physical and concussion information in addition to registering for a SWOL account (information to be found at the PDF linked below).
The coaching staff would like to thank the student-athletes who have successfully navigated this new system and for submitting necessary surveys on attempted training days, this does not go unnoticed.
If you are having issues with the new system please contact Coach Cureton at curetosm@pwcs.edu.
Updated information will be posted after the first of the year. We look forward to training together in a few short weeks, until then, we wish you a safe and healthy holiday season.

Please do not forget to do the SWOL Covid-19 online form by noon today as our test-run for next session. Thank you

Good afternoon Patriot Boys Soccer family,
Today's conditioning has been canceled due to lack of completed requirements. Moving forward it is necessary that your physical and concussion paperwork has been submitted to PTHS and you are required to have a SWOL account (details in link below) and a completed Covid-19 survey by NOON the day of training. Unfortunately, these requirements were not met and conditioning will be canceled for today, November 4th.
Tomorrow, I will be running a SWOL "test-run" for the necessary Covid-19 survey. Please create the necessary SWOL account and complete the Covid-19 survey by noon tomorrow, as you would on a normal training day, for this test-run. I recommend creating your SWOL account today as it does require trainer approval and may take time to become active.
If you have additional questions please email me at curetosm@pwcs.edu
Thank you all and I look forward to seeing you at our next training session on November 18th.
Coach Cureton

Hello all,
The most recent announcement on Monday with the decision to suspend all in-person schooling for the remainder of the school year was quite a shock. This carries such weight for our senior class within the capacity of spring sports. I am saddened but understand the importance in prioritizing our athletes and their family’s health during this unprecedented time. As mentioned in an email to the parents of seniors yesterday, the program will be doing something later in the summer once restrictions have been released to celebrate our senior class and all their accomplishments. Please stay tuned for this important information.
First and foremost, I would like to address how proud I am of all 2020 spring soccer players here at PHS. Selecting both Varsity and JV team members was something the coaching staff took great consideration in, each of your players was selected with intent to make our program better. Although the season was cut drastically short, we were seeing impressive qualities from many of the athletes within our program. As a coaching staff we are hopeful these qualities carry into the 20-21 school year and spring-season. We are a family, please know that your coaches are here for you during this uncertain time-please reach out if need be.
I have had a few questions about the delivery of spirit-wear. Completed spirit-wear was delivered to school Friday, March 13 and pick-up from my classroom was encouraged prior to dismissal. If your student was absent this spirit-wear is still in my classroom, when given the go-ahead I will remove this from my classroom and take all items to the Athletes Mark location of business. I will let you know when that has occurred, from there you will be able to use the information provided below to contact Elizabeth Boyes at Athletes Mark to arrange pick-up from her place of business. Items that were not completed March 13 due to backorder are in and ready for pick-up at the Athletes Mark business location. Elizabeth has been in contact with those that provided information with your order. The list below is of gear Elizabeth currently has in her possession and whether it has been picked up. This list does not include the gear in my classroom. Please reach out to Elizabeth regarding curb-side pick-up if your name is on the list below:

4.0 years ago @ 9:03AM First and foremost, congratulations on becoming a member of the PHS Boys Soccer program. The coaching staff would like to begin by thanking all parents and student-athletes for your hard work over the course of the next three months. We know these seasons are relentless and appreciate everything you do to help the athletes and the staff on and off the field. When you browse our team page you will find a section titled “Team Files”. I have uploaded the monthly calendar for both V and JV, team expectations sheets (with parent requirements as well) and any other important documents necessary as the season advances. Many of you were unable to attend the team meeting, I understand. There was a miscommunication on my behalf which led to poor announcement of the date and time, please accept my apologies, this is not how I usually conduct team business. The meeting addressed PHS expectations of athletes as well as PHS Boys Soccer expectations of athletes. I am attaching the link to Mr. Qualls PowerPoint presentation for your review and I have uploaded the coach’s expectations as well (these were sent home with the boys last Friday). This link will lead you to any important files from our Athletics web page: https://patriotpioneers.org/main/filesLinks/ We will use this web page for Varsity https://patriotpioneers.org/main/teamschedule/id/23621/seasonid/4507665 This page for JV announcements https://patriotpioneers.org/main/teamschedule/id/23617/seasonid/4553742 Please be sure you are registered with our Big Teams web site and receiving updates. We will use this and the school Twitter account for any necessary changes-this information is found on the team expectations sheet-along with coaches contact information. Students-athletes are expected to attend all events and be on time. If this is not the case, the athlete is expected to communicate with captains and coaches when/why they are missing. Lack of attendance will affect playing time, please plan accordingly and review the difference between excused and unexcused absences on our expectations sheet. Parents (athletes can help as well) are expected to work two or more concession events this season. Varsity works JV games and vice versa. I have included the sign-up genius to this announcement. If you have not signed up by next Wednesday, remaining spots will be assigned-please plan accordingly. JV players will be assigned 2 or more games to run lines for Varsity home games (this list will be posted ASAP to the JV web page). There will be four assigned to each game, these players are required to attend the entire game and will get a meal at half time. The remaining JV team members are required to stay and watch the first half of the Varsity game only, at half-time they may go home (but can stay as well). We try to encourage the JV team members to be active spectators in case the need arise that they are pulled for Varsity play. Varsity and JV teams have separate buses any opportunity we get, this allows the JV team to get home and prepare for their next academic day. Students are expected to ride the bus too and from away games, if a scenario arises where you would like to provide transportation home, an email request and approval to Mr. Qualls needs to be submitted 24 hours in advance and approval needs to be granted. JV players may stay after school with Coach Blair but are also allowed to go home prior to games if a reliable ride is provided. JV parents have inquired about meals. Polly Salter a returning parent in our program has developed quite a system and will be glad to share information regarding meal delivery and preparation. Please email Polly at Polly0014@aol.com for more information. Coaches will note organize and pick-up these options-if meals are desired parent volunteers will need to provide these. The JV buses will leave no earlier than 4:30 on away game days-this means the JV students have time to go home, eat and come back if wanted. Otherwise a room will be provided (1705 in Modular 1) for a study hall option. JV players need to be back to coaches’ room 30 minutes prior to bus departure (4:00 pm prior to 4:30 pm departure) and may arrive to the field an hour before game time for home games (ex: 4:30 pm prior to a 5:30 pm game time) Varsity arrival times before games: Home games be in Coach’s room (1710) an hour and half before the start of the game (ex: 5:30pm for a 7:00 pm start). Away games be in Coach’s room 1 hour prior to bus departure (ex: 4:30pm arrival before a 5:30 pm departure). Parents, an end of the year Google Survey will be sent this week or next, please be sure this is completed prior to our first game (March 16th). This survey is brief and will have a few sign-up options for necessary events throughout our season. We are looking to do a few team dinners and program potlucks throughout the season. This builds the sense of comradery and helps unite our program levels. Please be prepared for emails from Polly Salter with requests for assistance and sign-up for events. The team’s largest fundraiser of the year is the sale of Mulch. We require EACH player to sell 20 or more bags of mulch and reward our top three sales team members with spirit wear. Please be sure you are posting/sharing/asking neighbors and family members to buy mulch in the next 11 days. The deadline for sales is March14 and delivery day is March 28. Delivery day is a required event, please plan accordingly for your athlete and know parent volunteers are appreciated as well. Order form and shareable link: https://patriotboosters.weebly.com/mulch-sale.html The team is required to do community service events. If you have any recommendations of events we can do and can help organize these the coaching staff would greatly appreciate your efforts. If after reading all of this and our team expectations you have any additional questions please feel free to email myself at curetosm@pwcs.edu or Coach Blair at blairr@pwcs.edu We are excited for this season and looking forward to being as successful as possible. As many of you know, great success requires great preparation. We will need all the help we can get. Important Dates: March 10-Baseline testing for players (freshmen or juniors who need to renew after 2 years-players are alerted) March 14- last day to submit Mulch orders (please post/share the link and encourage neighbors to buy from us) March 26: Picture day (forms will be handed out and uploaded to our Big Teams webpage) March 28-mulch delivery day (this is all hands-on deck, student athletes and parents) Sincerely, The PHS Coaching Staff |
