Hello all and congratulations again on making the PHS Boys Soccer team. I wanted to provide clarification regarding our Spring Sports meeting this evening February 26th.

The Boys Soccer program will be meeting at 6:30 pm in Commons 2. The Spring Sports meeting will follow at 7 pm in the auditorium.

Please bring signed/completed blue cards and expectations/dates missing sheets if you have those, some will be provided this evening.

I am attaching the Sign-up Genius link for concessions this spring. Please sign up for 1-2 games. JV parents will work Varsity games and Varsity parents will work the JV games. After Friday the coaches will assign spaces as necessary, we are only responsible for the Boys Soccer events. Please sign-up early to ensure your preferred games/dates.

Tryouts begin at 2:30 on Tuesday, February 20th. The boys will meet in Coach Cureton's classroom (1710) to finalize preregistration for tryouts and then head to the field.

Eligibility forms need to be submitted in order for the PHS Athletic Director to verify the athletes concussion training, physical and academic requirements are met. If the requirements are not properly met by 2:30 on Tuesday, your tryout time will be spent getting those documents checked-you will not be granted additional tryout time.

For tryouts, please bring appropriate weather gear (warm clothes etc.), water, and proper soccer equipment (cleats, shin-guards, socks etc.). If you not have shin-guards you will NOT tryout, you will NOT be given additional tryout time, please plan accordingly. If there is inclement weather during tryouts our slot may be moved indoors, please pack appropriately.

Boys Soccer out-of-season play will begin on November 29, 2017 and be every Wednesday (except 12/27) after school on T. Clay’s turf field from 2:30 pm to 4 pm. An interest meeting will be in Coach Cureton’s room (1710) on November 1^st after school (2:15). The interest meeting will be brief, if you ride the bus stop by my room or Coach Nemerow’s room and you can get the necessary information without staying after.

Please arrange to have your physical and concussion training completed by the start of play to be eligible. Dates and times are listed below. Please be sure to bring proper equipment (ball, guards and cleats) as well as any weather specific gear to be prepared to play.

Necessary forms and documents can be found in the main office and you may submit the documents in the main office or to Mr. Qualls.

The PHS Boys Soccer coaching staff is excited for the upcoming 2018 season and looking forward the out-of-season play. Dates below are from 2:30-4 pm.

The Boys Soccer Banquet is June 5th from 5-7pm in Commons 1 at PHS. At this time, the boys soccer program will issue certificates, varsity letters and awards/accolades. We ask that all attending members contribute to our "pot-luck" festivities. I have sent a list of contributions by grade/name. Please provide something on that list, enough for 10 people or more. As always, myself and the coaching staff thanks you for your continued support.

Spring break is next week-Varsity has mandatory practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00-11:30 am each day. Please be sure to plan accordingly, we have a game Monday, 4/17 and will need to practice prior. The Interact 5k is the morning of 5/6-our team volunteers and works this 5k each year. Attendance is mandatory. Thank you

Practice is canceled for both Varsity and JV please go home after school and get a 25 minute run on your own at about 75% speed. Tomorrow JV will report directly to Denfeld's classroom (room 1113) and Varsity to Cureton's classroom (1710) for the scrimmage. 

Thank you for those who attended the meeting last night at PHS in regards to our Boys Soccer Program. We collected sock money, expectations/dates missing signature sheets and blue emergency cards from those who were present. If you were not present these items need to be collected by no later than Thursday for your son to be eligible for the scrimmage. Spiritwear closes 3/1 (tomorrow), please be sure to sell your 5 items as part of our fundraiser-as well as purchase a red t-shirt for pregame and a polo (unless this is owned) for our school dress attire. Tryouts begin today, 2/21 and will be from 2:30-4:30 each day on the Stadium. 

Immediately following school today, Feb 21st please report to Coach Cureton's classroom (1710) for eligibility check and number assignments. If your eligibility form has not been completed prior to this then you will take your form to Mr. Qualls in the commons, have it completed and join us on the field to WATCH today's tryout. You will begin tryouts tomorrow, February 22nd. 

There will be 3 days (minimum) of tryouts, with cuts beginning on Thursday 2/23 and the final cut for both teams being Friday 2/24. 

In order to tryout you will need cleats and shin guards.
