The Pioneers beat previously undefeated Hylton HS 31-21. Hylton came into the game ranked 4th in the state and led 14-3 in the second quarter before Patriot came back and outscored the Bulldogs 28-7 for the rest of the game. Patriot recieved outstanding special teams play from Jake Jenkins (blocked punt) and kickers Jamey Corcoran (4-4 XP and 1-1 FG) and Nick Schrage (2 KO in the endzone and a 40 yard punt). A swarming defense led the Patriot effort. Nick Ntiros, Brian Smith, Vic Ceglie, Charles Egbue and Jesse Leasure were particularly impressive. Leasure forced a fumble recovered by Egbue and Josh de la Cruz intercepted a pass creating two critical turnovers. On offense, Jake Caparella rushed for over 100 yards and scored 2 touchdowns, while Nick-Ferrari Smith added two more scores, one on the ground and one a receiving touchdown. Cody Agnew threw for over 250 yards for the second consecutive week, with Nick Mathews and Quintin Reynolds each recording 7 receptions for over 100 yards.
