Two-Man team winners

Updated on 06/10/2022

Congratulations goes out to Colin Caporal and Hunter Meade for competing in and WINNING the junior division of the Belle Haven Two Man Invitational.  The stud players for Patriot golf shot an impressive 2 under par 70 to take the junior division title in sub-par conditions.  The score of 70 would have placed them tied for 3rd in the overall competition.  Good job gentlemen.

Varsity Co-Ed Golf Fall 2016 Try-out Information

Updated on 06/10/2022

Welcome to the 2016 Patriot Pioneer

Varsity Golf Team Qualifier

August 1-3, 2016

Prince William Golf Course

Time - TBD

Format:   54 holes stroke play.  You will be playing 3 rounds of 18 holes per day.  Your lowest 2 rounds will be counted towards your total.  That means if you have a bad day, you can discard 1 score.  Best two out of three rounds will count towards the qualifier.  You must compete in all 3 rounds unless excused by the Head Coach.

Roster:   The Patriot Varsity Golf Team will be comprised of a maximum of 12 players.  We will have an 8 player active roster with a 4 player practice squad (subject to change due to participation).  All 12 players that qualify will receive a Patriot Varsity Golf Polo (to keep).  The low 6 players to qualify will receive a Patriot Varsity Golf Bag (must be returned at the end of the season).

Rules:  USGA rules will govern all play.  Stroke play event.  Any local rules will be announced on the first tee.  Any rules discrepancies during play on the course will be decided by the golf professional on site.  Boys will be playing the white tees and ladies will be playing the gold tees.

Players are not allowed to use any type of cart during the course of play, this includes pull carts per VHSL rules.  If you have medical clearance for any pull cart, you must have this in writing prior to competing.

Since this is a school event all VHSL rules will be in effect.  You must be cleared by the Activities Director for eligibility, you must have a concussion training and current physical fully complete and submitted to the Activities Office prior to the Qualifier start, no exceptions.  Please ensure you are in compliance before the start date.

Location:  Prince William Golf Course will be our home course.  Luckily, we will have privileges at several other courses in the area on certain dates.  The times and locations of all activities will be posted on the Patriot Pioneer Varsity Golf Team webpage.

Transportation:  Transportation to and from practice and home/away matches are your responsibility.  Invitational events and Tournaments we will have access to bus transportation.  Pick-up/drop-off times will vary per tournament and will be posted accordingly.

Equipment:  You must provide your own equipment; Golf clubs, golf bag, golf balls, tees etc.  You must comply with the dress code for each course (collared shirt, proper golf shoes, and no blue jeans).

Practice/Tournaments:  August is a very busy schedule, please make family plans accordingly.  Usually, we will have an invitational tournament the day after qualifier and tournaments/matches throughout the month of August.  Very busy.  September slows down a bit with the start of the new school year.  If for some reason you cannot make a practice/tournament you must notify the Head Coach prior to such an occurrence (contact information below).  1st time with no proper notification will be a warning, 2nd time with no proper notification will be a designated suspension, and 3rd time without proper notification will be dismissal from the team.

Etiquette:   Please be aware that the golf courses are letting us use their facilities mostly free of charge.  Please respect the golf course employees, property, and use.  Integrity is an integral part of the game of golf. It is expected that you take care of the golf course.  Please repair any divots in the fairways, fix your ball marks on the greens, and rake all your marks in all bunkers.  Cheating in any way, shape, or form is strictly forbidden.  Make sure you have a good understanding of the USGA rules of golf.  www.usga.org

Good Luck and may the wind be at your back, sun warm your face and putt the ball where the sun don’t shine!
