With a tough loss last night the 2014 season comes to an end. We would like to celebrate the accomplishments of both our Junior Varsity and Varsity athletes. Our end of season banquet will be help Tuesday June 10 at Stonewall golf club. Please see flyer in the team files. Time 6:30 pm. Cost $15 per person (players do not have to pay). With such a short turn around we need to have all money collected by Thursday 6/5. Please make sure to turn in your money and player rsvp to Coach Eikhoff. Also if you have pictures that you have taken during the season we need them uploaded to shutterfly by Thursday 6/5.  We need help with Concessions on Friday 5/23. The Varsity team will be playing in the Conference Tournament Championship game. Due to the weather last night the game at Potomac on 5/16 is canceled. Varsity softball will play next Wednesday 5/21 at Patriot in the conference tournament. 

Concession Help is needed for post season play.  As we get ready to move in to post-season player for our spring teams, we have two definite needs for concessions volunteers. Try-outs 2/24 will be held outside. We are hopeful that we will be done by 5:30 this afternoon, but I will say we have things we would like to complete today since we just don't know what the weather will hold for us this week.

You are invited to come and congratulate Ashley Wark who will be signing her National Letter of Intent to play at Gardner Webb University next year. Monday, Nov 18 at 7pm. Commons. 

Any girls interested in playing softball in 2014 should plan to attend the interest meeting on Thursday 2/6 in Room 2117 at 2pm. If you have your physical or concussion training information please bring it with you. All players trying out must have a current physical and concussion training prior to tryouts. No player will be allowed to tryout without both of these requirements. 

As of right now we have an indoor time of 2:05-3:50 this afternoon. I will know more about after school activities after 1pm. I will post if and when I find out about changes to after school activities. I will send that message as a text alert. If you have not signed up for those please do so as I send out cancelations, changes and urgent information through text. 

Softball tryouts will begin Monday 2/24. You must have turned in your physical and concussion training prior to tryouts. If you have not seen Coach Eikhoff to complete the eligibility paperwork you must do that this week. All returning Varsity players we will meet at 2:30 in front of the weight room on Thursday 2/20. We are looking for help to get items donated for our first fundraiser of the season on 2/28. I will be posting for items for the fundraiser next week. We are looking for items to put into baskets that will be raffled off at our Cinco de Softball evening. If you know of anyone at Florists, Nail Salons, Hair Salons, Auto Shops, Barbershops, Grocery Stores, Movie Theaters, Massage Spas, Bakeries, Gym Memberships, 31 representatives, Jewelry People....etc.... We are looking for items to place in 10 baskets. We do have a donation letter for them. Contact Coach Eikhoff if you have any contacts.

Stonewall game has been moved to 5/12. Game on 5/6 (senior night) will start at 6:30. 

Todays game has been rescheduled for Friday 4/11. If your player is not going to be here on Friday they need to let me know ASAP!

This is an event that all players must participate in. We need to help support our booster organization. Anyone with a truck or SUV that can have mulch in the back can help deliver. Players can help move mulch, deliver, and load. Below has the details for when to arrive and where to report. Look forward to seeing you all there. 

The delivery day for the MULCH MADNESS Fundraiser is coming up this Saturday, April 5th!  We need as many volunteers as possible to get all of the mulch delivered as quickly as possible.  Volunteer positions are needed to stage and load mulch, adult delivery drivers with trucks, trailers, anyone with forklift experience, and, of course, volunteers to unload the mulch at the delivery sites!  We will also need drivers to carry students around following the delivery vehicles so that the mulch can be unloaded.

We will begin loading mulch for delivery at 7:30 AM on Saturday morning, so please plan on arriving between 7:00 and 7:15 AM.  Students should check in at the "Check-in/Check-out" table so that their volunteer hours can be recorded.

Doughnuts, coffee and water will be provided.

Thanks for your help and we look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday!

Varsity will play at Patriot at 6pm on 3/31. JV game is canceled. 

JV practice is canceled 3/26. Varsity will go home and return to school at 6:00 for indoor practice. Varsity players will be sent a message if time changes. 

Due to the inclement weather the Varsity game has been canceled and moved to April 21st at 6pm. There will be no practice for Varsity or JV after school. Be careful roads are slushy.

If you follow your player on gamechanger it will send you an email as to when the game is being scored. So if you can't make it to the game you can still follow the action. Practice will be outdoors today starting at 2:45. Study hall today before practice. Looks like tomorrow, Friday, 3/21, will be the first games - both teams are looking good to play. Looking forward to getting on the field. 

Please continue to sell Mulch and reach out to sponsors. We need to raise money to be able to pay for the end of season banquet and to gain new equipment. Please turn in the mulch forms as soon as you collect. Your athlete can give me the forms at practice or you can drop them off at school.

The Robinson scrimmage originally scheduled for Saturday 3/8 has been rescheduled to Friday 3/14 JV will play at 5:30 and Varsity will play at 7:00.

We will be removing tarp and securing wind screen Saturday 3/7 at 12:30. Please bring snow shovels, gloves, boots, and ladder if you have one. We will be practicing at 2:00pm on the stadium turf. Players please bring your practice clothes to change into after working on the field. I don't want you to play in wet socks or wet clothing. 

Practice today Friday 3/7 will be indoors from 2:-4:15. Please pick up athletes outside door 20. Back of the school by the weight room. Please park in a parking space to wait for your player.

The Patriot Booster Club supports our softball program in many ways and our team receives benefits from you joining the booster club and from purchasing mulch. You can bring your membership forms and dues with you to the meeting on Monday 3/10. This weekend will be a great time to go around the neighborhood and sell some mulch. From both of these endeavors will receive monetary benefits so I encourage you to join and get out and sell.

In an effort to educate our parents and athletes about NCAA & NAIA Academic Eligibility requirements, athletic scholarships and the college recruiting process, Dynamite Sports will conduct an hour long seminar entitled “Guiding the College-Bound Athlete” on

Monday January 13th, at 7:30pm in the Patriot HS Auditorium

This event will teach our parents and athletes how to set up visits, create a “Recruiting Plan”, where to look for financial aid & scholarships, and how to find the right college!

If you are interested in playing in college at all or even just exploring the idea, you should attend this seminar. It will help parents and athletes alike in their college search.

Softball will begin winter season workouts on Thursday Nov 21. We will begin at 2:10 and continue to 4:00. Please make sure you have physical and concussion training. Reminder: I need Pioneer card money or cards ASAP. Please if your daughter took cards have them return the money for each one that was sold or return the cards that were not sold.

I have received the Patriot Discount Cards for the players to sell. Have your player come pick them up from me. They sell for $10 and really are a great deal for people in our community. We have 100 to sell so make sure your family picks some up to sell. 

The Brax spirit cups we will sell for until 11/4. I need all money and order forms turned in by 11/4 so I can input the order and have them back right after Thanksgiving. All checks are made payable to Patriot High School. These are great Holiday gift items for teachers. I also give them to the teenagers and other hard to by for family members with a gift card or candy inside. Just a couple of ideas for you.

There will be a meeting in room 2117 at 2:00 on Thursday 9/12 for all those interested in playing softball this year. We will begin workouts on Tuesday 9/17 at 2:30. We will have workouts on Tuesday and Thursdays from 2:30-4:00. We will be in weight room from 2:30-3:30 and outside depending on weather until 4:00. All athletes must have current concussion training and physical on file before they can attend after school workouts.
