Makiya Williams would not be denied at the plate when runners were on base on Thursday, driving in five on two hits to lead Patriot Varsity Pioneers past C.D. Hylton 18-6 on Thursday.  Williams drove in runs on a double in the third and a double in the fourth.

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Patriot Varsity Pioneers collected 14 hits and C.D. Hylton had 2.

C.D. Hylton opened up scoring in the first inning, when Luana Plummer drew a walk, scoring one run.

Patriot Varsity Pioneers pulled away for good with 12 runs in the third inning.  In the third Ella Roberson singled on a 0-1 counts, scoring one run. Layla French singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Makiya Williams doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. Emily Casey singled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs. Ella Roberson drew a walk, scoring one run, and Reagan Trottman double on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

C.D. Hylton score three runs in the fourth inning.  Luana Plummer, Juli Ritchie, and Grace Thompson powered the big inning with RBIs.

Sarah Lysohir led things off in the circle for the Pioneers.  The pitcher surrendered three runs on zero hits over two innings, striking out four.

Juli Ritchie toed the rubber for C.D. Hylton.  The hurler went three innings, allowing 13 runs on 8 hits and strking out 5.  Grace Thompson threw one inning in relief.

The Pioneers racked up 14 hits on the day.  Ally Logan, Reagan Trottman, Makiya Williams, and Layla French each had multiple hits for the Pioneers.
