Patriot Tennis Tryouts 2019

What you need to tryout:

1. An updated and correctly filled out VHSL Sports Physical dated AFTER May 1, 2018.

2. Concussion Training: If you are a Freshman or have NEVER played a sport at Patriot, you need to do the face to face training at one of the PWCS schools. If you played last year or have played another sport at Patriot, you just need to do the online training.

Face to Face Concussion training: -At Patriot- Wednesday, Feb. 6^th at 6:30 in Auditorium

Tryout Dates:

Tuesday February 19^th- Everyone- at 2:30- be on the Tennis Courts.

Wednesday February 20^th- Girls- 2:30-4 on the Tennis Courts

                                       -Boys- 3:45-5 on the Tennis Courts

Thursday February 21^st- Girls- 2:30-4 on the Tennis Courts

                                      -Boys- 3:45-5 on the Tennis Courts

Friday February 22^nd - if necessary- To be announced.

Tryout Information:

Tryouts will work like they have in previous years at Patriot. Every player will play every other player in a game to 10 points. The first player to 10 points wins. At the end of the tryout the total number of points will be added up, and will determine who makes the team.

Depending on how many students try out, I may do an “evaluation day,” and then split the group into an A and B group before the round robin try out process begins.

I will keep between 8 and 12 players on each team. Making the team in previous years does not guarantee you a spot.

***Upperclassman must be in the top 8 to be guaranteed to make the team. Upperclassman not in the top 8 will be a coach’s decision on if they make the team***

BRING WATER AND A TENNIS RACQUET. PATRIOT DOES NOT PROVIDE YOU WITH A RACQUET…Dress appropriately, it will probably be cold and windy.

Due to the weather cancellations, we will have our tennis interest meeting on Monday 2/4 at 2:20 in trailer 1803. We will go over tryout information, schedule, and expectations. See everybody there!
