Here is the info you need for tryouts. *Please try to hand in physical forms and concussion stuff to me as soon as you can.* All info subject to change, pay attention to announcements.

Patriot Tennis Tryouts 2018

What you need to tryout:

1. An updated and correctly filled out VHSL Sports Physical dated AFTER May 1, 2017.

2. Concussion Training: If you are a Freshman or have NEVER played a sport at Patriot, you need to do the face to face training at one of the PWCS schools. If you played last year or have played another sport at patriot, you just need to do the online training.

Face to face Concussion training: -At Patriot- Tuesday, Feb. 6^th at 6:30 in Auditorium

Tryout Dates:

Tuesday February 20^th- Everyone- at 2:30- be on the Tennis Courts.

Wednesday February 21^st- Girls- 2:30-4 on the Tennis Courts

                                       -Boys- 3:45-5 on the Tennis Courts

Thursday February 22^nd- Girls- 2:30-4 on the Tennis Courts

                                      -Boys- 3:45-5 on the Tennis Courts

Friday February 23^rd - if necessary- To be announced.

Tryout Information:

Tryouts will work like they have in previous years at Patriot. Every player will play every other player in a game to 10 points. The first player to 10 points wins. At the end of the tryout the total number of points will be added up, which will determine who makes the team.

Depending on how many students try out, I may do an “evaluation day,” and then split the group into an A and B group before the round robin try out process begins.

The Top 12 players overall will make the team for both boys and girls.

Underclassman in the top 12 are guaranteed to make the team.

***Upperclassman must be in the top 8 to be guaranteed to make the team. Upperclassman not in the top 8 will be a coach’s decision on whether or not they make the team***

BRING WATER AND A TENNIS RACQUET. PATRIOT DOES NOT PROVIDE YOU WITH A RACQUET. 

I'm moving the meeting to Tuesday 1/30 after school in trailer 1803. See me if you cannot attend.

We will have a mandatory tennis meeting for anyone interested in trying out for the tennis team this year. It will be on Tuesday 1/23, right after school in trailer 1803...If for some reason you cannot make it, you must meet with Coach Grimsland.
