I hope that everyone is enjoying their summer! I wanted to contact parents in advance of wrestling camp that begins on Sunday.

A few reminders:

We will be meeting at 1115 AM on Sunday June 24th to depart for camp. We have had a number of volunteers for transportation and everyone's assistance is greatly appreciated.

We are still looking for volunteers to assist in transportation home. We will be checking out between 11-1130 on Thursday June 28th and will depart for home as soon as possible. Anyone who is available for rides home please contact Coach Foley and let him know!

OFF SEASON

Prince William County has finalized plans for new out of season workout plans. We are currently in the process of having the wrestling schedule confirmed. It will be posted to this website next week. For planning purposes, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons will be used for lifting and work outs. A detailed schedule will be posted soon.

Congratulations to the Patriot HS wrestling team who competed in the district tournament this past weekend at Stonewall Jackson HS. The team represented themselves spectacularly, qualifying 8 wrestlers for this upcoming weekend's Regional tournament. Winning a District title for the Pioneers was Anthony Olsen, who extended his unbeaten record to 34-0. Dillon Creswell was also a finalist, but settled for second after a close loss in the finals. Third place finishers included Chad Lehner, Kevin Ettiene,  and Zack Catron. Christian Gillet, Gabe McGinness, and Dylan Franco will also be moving onto the Regional tournament. The Pioneers also had four wrestlers finish fifth in their respective weight classes, making them alternates for the upcoming Regional tournament which begins Friday at Forest Park HS. Those wrestlers were Parker Anderson, Quintin Lee-Menacho, Will Gillespie, and Joshua Friedman. Congratulations again to all those who competed.

 All prospective wrestlers are to meet after school tomorrow, Thursday November 3, in Coach Foley's room, 1207. The meeting will begin promptly at 2:00 pm. It will be a brief meeting. We will be distributing forms, answering questions, as well as providing a schedule for November. We will also cover the items necessary for the first day of practice.

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR THE 1ST DAY OF PRACTICE

- Wrestling shoes

(May be purchased at any local sporting goods store)

- Headgear

(Provided by school, but wrestlers are welcome to wear their personal headgear.If personal headgear is preferred, it must be one of the following colors:Blue, Red, White, Silver, Black)

- Workout Shorts/ Shirt

(After the first week of practice, clothes must be the following colors: Blue, Red, White, Silver, Black. Details to be determind.)

-Towel/ Soap/ Shampoo

(Wrestlers will be required to shower prior to departing school.)

-Mouthpiece (If you have braces)

(Mouthpiece must cover all braces. If a wrestler has braces on both their bottom and top teeth, they must wear a mouthpiece covering both their top and bottom teeth.)

-Running Shoes

 FORMS REQUIRED FOR THE 1ST DAY OF PRACTICE

-Completed VHSL Physical dated AFTER MAY 1ST, 2011.

- Completed Emergency Card

(Will be available at Thursday's meeting)
